City of fountains, the heart of America, home of the royals, home of Patrick Mahomes…call it what you will but I call this place home! Of course, I’m a tad biased, but Kansas City is one of the greatest places to visit. If you haven’t been you’re probably thinking, “what is this girl talking about?! All I think of is a cowtown with apparently good barbecue.” You have to see it for yourself to understand what a hidden treasure this place is.
First, let me give you some quick facts about my hometown. Kansas City is in the state of Missouri. Yes Missouri NOT Kansas. While KCK does exist, it’s very tiny and is not the city you all think of. The Chiefs, Royals, downtown, the plaza, are all in Missouri. Just like every big city, KC has a lot of “districts” that I will mention throughout this blog. Think of it like what Buckhead is to Atlanta!
Ok now to the good stuff!
During college, friends were always asking for KC recommendations so I just started writing down my ideas. Food, where to stay, what to see, and everything in between. I put together a quick visitors guide for anyone planning their trip here, and if you’re not planning a trip maybe you will after reading this!

No matter when you come to Kansas City you’re sure to find some unique experiences but of course, there’s always those places and activities you can’t catch year-round.
Here’s a quick list of things to see and do when you’re here in the Fall! (coming soon) Don’t forget to head back to Brunette in Blush soon for details on Christmas in Kansas City!
